Questions, answered
How is this different from Ahrefs, Semrush or Screaming Frog?
Those tools audit your live site after changes ship. SEOGuard sits in your deploy pipeline: it checks the preview of every pull request, blocks regressions before merge and opens fix PRs in your repo. It's priced for small sites, not enterprise marketing teams.
What's included in the Free plan?
One site, three manual scans a month (up to 25 pages each) and your five most important issue types — enough to see where you stand. Automation is on paid plans: scheduled scans, Deploy Guard on pull requests, the full issue list, weekly reports, instant alerts and fix PRs.
Which frameworks and hosts are supported?
Any site whose code lives on GitHub. Deploy Guard reads preview deployments from Vercel, Netlify and any host that reports GitHub deployment statuses. Fix PRs are framework-aware for Next.js, Astro, Nuxt, SvelteKit and static sites.
What GitHub permissions do you need?
Only the repositories you select. We request read access to metadata and deployments, write access to checks and pull requests, and contents write only so we can open fix PRs on a separate branch. We never push to your default branch.
Can it scan password-protected Vercel previews?
Yes. Add a Vercel Protection Bypass for Automation secret in your site settings and we send it with every preview crawl.
Does it work for client-side rendered SPAs?
We crawl the HTML your server returns, which is what most crawlers see first. If your pages render only in the browser, we flag it as an issue — that alone is often the biggest SEO fix for SPAs.
Is my data stored in the EU?
Product analytics run on PostHog's EU cloud. We store only crawl results and aggregated Search Console metrics — never your source code.
